Racing Radios Becomes SVRA’s Official Radio Provider

Leading Motorsports Radio Communications Company Joins Strong Field of SVRA Sponsors

The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) announced today that Racing Radios, America’s leading motorsports radio communication company, has become the latest sponsor of America’s premier vintage racing series. Racing Radios adds the SVRA to its impressive list of companies relying on it as their Official Two-Way Services Provider, which already includes Monster Energy NASCAR Cup, NASCAR Xfinity, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“Back in the 1970’s Richard Petty was Racing Radios’ first customer, and he still wears their headsets in Petty Blue. That’s good enough for me,” said Tony Parella, SVRA president and CEO. “Seriously, I am so very pleased to add another world class company to our growing list of official sponsors. The momentum of our national platform is the real deal.”

Racing Radios is leading the way with a portfolio of motorsports communications products primarily for teams and officials but also the company services fans. The product line includes radio systems, headsets, radios, intercoms, scanners and various accessories. Racing Radios will make its first appearance with the SVRA at the March 2-5 Sebring Vintage Classic. With IMSA’s 12-Hours of Sebring taking place March 15, the Racing Radios team will spend much of March at the iconic airport circuit. Their paddock footprint will be a 28-foot sales and service trailer that will carry the company’s full product line. They will be present at the Open Wheel World Challenge and the Brickyard Invitational at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in June and are reviewing the SVRA schedule to determine other events to attend.

“We find the camaraderie at SVRA vintage racing refreshing and fun. We know this will be a good home for us,” said Chris Thornton, president, Racing Radios. “The atmosphere may not be as intense as top-level professional series, but these racers show a lot of professionalism and we share their passion for outstanding quality.”

Racing Radio’s sponsorship investment is the latest in a steady stream of top business, consumer and automotive brands to recognize the value of the SVRA’s demographics and the exposure of a national platform. Other top brands partnering with America’s premier vintage racing organization include Jaguar, Land Rover, NetJets, Zenith Watch, Robert Talbott, Mazda, Hoosier Tire, TRITEC, Safecraft, and National App.

SVRA officials report consistent annual triple-digit growth since 2012. The sport has rapidly grown from a regional activity largely concentrated in the southeastern United States to one that spans the continent at most of America’s top race courses. Earlier this month the SVRA announced it is presenting – for the first time in any form of vintage racing – a season-long national points championship. Since the beginning of the year it has expanded its schedule to include its first hill climb near the legendary “Tail of the Dragon” roadway in Western North Carolina as well as an exciting new oval track format for its two-weekend extravaganza at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Look for additional sponsorship announcements in the coming weeks.
